SKI AREA

Les Deux Alpes is one of the highest resorts in France with an altitude of 1300m to 3600m. It has one of the largest glaciers in the Alps and Europe's largest summer skiing area. There is almost 225 kilometres of marked pistes including 20 kilometres cross country, 104 pistes and 214 snow cannons. The ski area is well suited to all standards of skiers/boarders with plenty of off-piste potential and one of Europes premier snow parks with competition standard half pipe and boardercross. Free-riders can also take advantage of the link to the La Grave, an off-piste nirvana, some of the best terrain in the world. Down in resort, there are plenty of activities to take part in as well as excellent apres ski with plenty of bars cafes and restaurants.

51 mechanical lifts including:
23 chair lifts
19 ski lifts
3 gondola lifts
2 clutch-operated cable cars
1 cable car
1 funicular
1 rope tow

7 Mountain Restaurants

Cross-country
Les Deux Alpes: 2 marked tracks through the woods.

Linked to Les Deux Alpes by cable car, the Valley of Veneon (Venosc) is an untouched natural area with 3 marked tracks from 3km to 24km.

SKI SCHOOLS

There are plenty of Ski schools which provide both group and individual lessons at all levels. I highly recommend the
European ski and snowboard school
, which is in fact the only school in town with English Instructors.

Snowshoeing, ice climbing (on ice waterfalls), paragliding, climbing, mountain motor sports including quad biking and skidoo, ice-skating, ice cave, the white cruise (discover the glacier on a tracked minibus) and ice-diving.
